About the Session
NAWEC recently conducted a one-day HSE awareness and capacity-building session for Power Plant HSE Focal Points, focusing on HSE Champion responsibilities, general health and safety management, and risk mitigation. The session formed part of the final cohort of the Power Plant HSE Champion training programme.
The training brought together nominated representatives from Brikama One, Brikama Two, and Brikama Three Power Plants, with the support and participation of their respective Plant Managers. Two representatives from each power plant were trained to serve as HSE Champions and support the implementation of HSE risk identification, control measures, and awareness activities within their respective facilities.
The session provided participants with practical knowledge to strengthen hazard identification, risk assessment, and the implementation of appropriate control measures in their daily operations. It also reinforced the importance of employee engagement and shared responsibility in maintaining a safe and healthy workplace.
