NAWEC has received four Toyota pickup vehicles from the Gambia Inclusive and Resilient Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (GIRAV) to support the implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) activities across The Gambia.

NAWEC has received four Toyota pickup vehicles from the Gambia Inclusive and Resilient Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (GIRAV) to support the implementation of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) activities across the country.

The vehicles were officially handed over at the CPCU Complex in Banjul and will facilitate the implementation of Component 6 of the GIRAV Project — a USD 23 million investment aimed at improving access to water, sanitation and hygiene services nationwide.

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of NAWEC, Deputy Managing Director Momodou Sompo Ceesay expressed appreciation for GIRAV’s continued support, noting that the vehicles will enhance mobility and improve the efficiency of project implementation in intervention areas across the country.

Through its partnership with the GIRAV Project, NAWEC is expanding access to safe and reliable water services, including the development of a new water treatment plant in Bansang and the installation of smart water meters across the country.

NAWEC extends its sincere gratitude to the GIRAV Project and the Central Project Coordination Unit (CPCU) for their continued collaboration in improving water services for communities throughout The Gambia.
