OMVG Delegation Visits The Gambia to Assess Regional Power Infrastructure and Strengthen Collaboration

The High Commissioner of OMVG, Mr. Demba Jallow, led a high-level delegation on an official visit to OMVG energy infrastructure in The Gambia, meeting with NAWEC authorities to strengthen regional energy cooperation and assess the impact of the interconnection project.

The National Water and Electricity Company (NAWEC) wishes to inform the public that the High Commissioner of the Organisation pour la Mise en Valeur du Fleuve Gambie (OMVG), Mr. Demba Jallow, accompanied by a high-level delegation, conducted an official visit to OMVG energy infrastructure in The Gambia on Thursday, 11 June 2026.

The visit was aimed at assessing the operational status of OMVG facilities and obtaining first-hand information on the performance and impact of the regional electricity interconnection project in the country.

As part of the tour, the delegation inspected key OMVG infrastructure, including substations and transmission facilities. The team later held a brief but productive meeting with NAWEC authorities at the Brikama OMVG Substation, focusing on strengthening coordination and improving electricity service delivery nationwide.
