Understanding Your Tariffs

NAWEC's tariff structure is designed to ensure affordable access to essential services while supporting the operational and investment costs needed to maintain and expand The Gambia's electricity and water infrastructure.

All tariffs are reviewed and approved by the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA), the independent regulator overseeing utility pricing in The Gambia.

Electricity — Credit Meters

Credit (postpaid) meter tariffs are structured by customer class and consumption bands (kWh per month). Domestic customers benefit from tiered pricing based on usage volume.

Electricity — Prepaid Meters

Prepaid meter customers are charged a flat rate per customer class. Prepaid meters help customers manage their electricity usage and budget more effectively.

Water (Per Cubic Meter)

Water tariffs are based on cubic metres consumed per month. Domestic customers benefit from tiered pricing, while commercial and institutional users are charged a flat rate.
