PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
NAWEC regrets to inform its esteemed customers in Upper River (URR) and Central River (CRR) Regions that the current electricity situation in the area is due to the increase in demand for electricity during the Holy Month of Ramadan. In addition, one of the two engines in Basse that supply the two regions developed some technical faults and as a result the demand for electricity, particularly during peak periods exceeds its installed generating capacity in Basse. This has affected the load shedding rooster during peak periods as some areas experience a lack of power for longer hours.
A team of engineers is currently on the ground to carryout repair works quickly, but for the meantime NAWEC will do everything possible to distribute the available power equitably to its customers during the period.
NAWEC apologizes for the inconvenience caused and solicits the understanding and cooperation of all the affected customers. Normal supply will resume as soon as the works on the engine is completed.
