NAWEC is pleased to invite suitably qualified Gambians to apply for the vacant position of Senior Manager, Strategic Planning and Policy<\/strong>. The said position forms part of NAWEC\u2019s ongoing organizational restructuring that aims to build a solid team which will adequately respond to the demands, aspirations and expectations of the government and people of The Gambia regarding the electricity and water sectors.<\/p>\n

NAWEC is therefore currently recruiting for the above position to join our new Group Projects and Planning team. The position details are as follows:<\/p>\n

Position<\/strong><\/td>\nSenior Manager Strategic Planning and Policy<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Role Summary<\/strong><\/td>\nOverall responsibility for Nawec\u2019 s long term Master Planning and Strategic Business Planning<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Reporting Relationships<\/strong><\/td>\nReports direct to Group Projects & Planning Director but works closely with NAWEC Technical Departments , Corporate Directorates especially Finance, Head of Project Development and Head of Policy and Monitoring & Evaluation<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/strong><\/td>\nMaster Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Develop a \u00a0master plan\u00a0for Nawec Electricity, Water & Sewerage to serve as a blueprint for the future growth and \u00a0expansion of the business infrastructure.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Contribute to and incorporate consultant led Roadmap work into master plan and reflect strategic vision, mission and values and relevant aspects of Gambian\u00a0 National Development plans.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Translate Masterplan\/Roadmap\/ Strategic Business plans \/ National plans into prioritised potential projects and obtain outline approval<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Develop rolling 5 year capital budget and obtain organisational and stakeholder approval annually.<\/p>\n

Strategic Business Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Care and Maintenance to Nawecs Strategic Business Plan including:-<\/p>\n

o\u00a0\u00a0 Annual review of plan\u00a0 to reflect emergent issues<\/p>\n

o\u00a0\u00a0 Periodic major \u00a0plan updates<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monitoring of Strategic Plan progress via Departmental annual business plans and the various Business Objective KPI\u2019s.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Monthly KPI performance reporting to Nawec executive management and Quarterly reporting to the Board of NAWEC<\/p>\n

Requirements and Qualifications<\/strong><\/td>\n3rd<\/sup> Level Degree ideally to Masters level with a minimum of 10 years\u2019 experience in planning at a strategic level in an organisation of similar scope and scale to Nawec.<\/p>\n

Good understanding of electricity and water businesses.<\/p>\n

A Masters Degree in Business Administration would be an advantage<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Stakeholder Management<\/strong><\/td>\nIs sensitive to the importance of stakeholders, their identification and mobilisation in support of objectives and plans<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
IT\u00a0 savvy<\/strong><\/td>\nComfortable in modern IT environment, excellent with MS suite and able to exploit IT systems for business use especially for strategic analysis<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Team Building<\/strong><\/td>\nFinds, recruits and develops the best people for the supporting \u00a0team<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Professional Knowledge<\/strong><\/td>\nMaintains constant self-improvement by staying up to date with developments in Strategic Planning and Utility business.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
