The Government of The Gambia has received financing from the African Development Bank towards the cost of The Gambia Electricity Access Project (GEAP) being implemented by the National Water and Electricity Company Limited (NAWEC). The Government, therefore, intends to apply part of the funds for the audit of the project\u2019s financial statements.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In conducting an audit of financial statements, the overall objectives of the auditor are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, thereby enabling the auditor to express an opinion on whether the financial statements are prepared in all material respects, in accordance with an applicable financial reporting framework and<\/li>\n
  2. To report on the financial statements and communicate as required by the ISAs in accordance with the auditor\u2019s findings.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

     <\/p>\n

    The project books of account provide the basis for the preparation of the PFSs (project financial statements) by the Project Implementation Unit and are established to reflect the financial transactions in respect of the project.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The Project Implementation Unit through National Water and Electricity Company Limited (NAWEC) now invites eligible consultants to indicate their interest in providing these services. Interested consultants must<\/strong> provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services; (i) information detailing the company\u2019s existence and areas of expertise (ii) list of similar assignments and experience in similar conditions, (iv) availability of appropriate staff relevant for the assignment and (v) any other relevant information.<\/p>\n

     <\/p>\n

    Eligibility criteria, the establishment of the short-list and the selection procedure shall be in accordance with the African Development Bank\u2019s \u201cProcurement Policy<\/em><\/strong> and Methodology for Bank Group Funded Operations dated October 2015, <\/em><\/strong>which is available on the Bank\u2019s website at http:\/\/www.afdb.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n
