{"id":2172,"date":"2025-12-15T11:36:02","date_gmt":"2025-12-15T11:36:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nawec.gm\/?p=2172"},"modified":"2025-12-16T17:05:57","modified_gmt":"2025-12-16T17:05:57","slug":"nawec-builds-capacity-on-environmental-protection","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nawec.gm\/?p=2172","title":{"rendered":"NAWEC Builds Capacity on Environmental Protection"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartFragment --><\/p>\n<h2>\ud83c\udf0d NAWEC Builds Capacity on Environmental Protection<\/h2>\n<p>On <strong>10\u201311 December 2025<\/strong>, NAWEC, in collaboration with its development partners\u2014the <strong>French Foundation for Environmental Management (FFEM)<\/strong>, the <strong>United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)<\/strong>, and the <strong>United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR)<\/strong>\u2014successfully concluded a two-day <strong>capacity building workshop<\/strong> at the African Princess Hotel.<\/p>\n<p>The training was coordinated by NAWEC\u2019s <strong>Health, Safety &amp; Environment (HSE) Department<\/strong> as part of the ongoing <strong>PCB\/uPOPs Management Plan<\/strong>. It brought together key stakeholders including the <strong>National Environment Agency (NEA)<\/strong>, the <strong>National Disaster Management Agency (NDMA)<\/strong>, and NAWEC electricity contractors.<\/p>\n<h3>\ud83d\udd39 Focus of the Workshop<\/h3>\n<p>The sessions raised awareness on <strong>Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs)<\/strong>, specifically <strong>Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)<\/strong> and <strong>unintentional POPs (uPOPs)<\/strong>.
