It is part of the government&#8217;s broader strategy to ensure sustainable water supply and meet national development and public health goals.<\/p>\n<p>The WASIB project includes the following key components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Rehabilitation and construction of new water storage tanks<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Replacement of outdated transfer pumps and control systems<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Replacement of bulk water meters<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Drilling of 12 shallow and 4 deep Sand Aquifer boreholes<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Construction of a new 500m\u00b3 water treatment plant in Sifoe<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Expansion of water transmission lines and elimination of bottlenecks<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Construction and full equipment of a modern Water Quality Laboratory<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Development of a centralized Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Center<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Extension of water distribution mains across greenfield and brownfield areas, covering over 300 km<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Speaking ahead of the launch, <strong>Mr. Gallo Saidy, Managing Director of NAWEC<\/strong>, stated,<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe launch of the WASIB project is a bold step toward our commitment to ensure universal access to safe drinking water.
